OHEP – Ontario Hunter Education Program

Hunter education and gun safety is as important to us as carrying the best in hunting and sporting goods. Ontario Hunter Education Courses are held monthly at the Triggers and Bows store location.

Due to Covid-19, all courses are cancelled. If you have already registered, Renee will be contacting you in regard to re-scheduling.

Please note:

You need a PAL and proof of course completion. Please remember to bring the paperwork. 

The Ontario Hunter Education Program teaches new hunters about:

  • Hunting and identifying big game, small game, and waterfowl
  • Hunting regulations and laws
  • Hunter responsibilities
  • Wildlife management
  • Hunting and survival equipment

The OHEP typically starts on Saturday and is completed on Sunday. Total in-class time averages 10.5 – 15.5 hours. A down payment on the course is not necessary; however, pre-registration and full attendance are required. On the day of the course, please bring two (2) pieces of identification with you (Driver’s License, Firearms License, Birth Certificate, Health Card, Passport, etc.)

Mentors are welcome to attend when a minor is taking the course. Minors will need a parent or legal guardian to sign a permission slip in order to partake in the OHEP.

Please remember to pre-register for the OHEP as seating is limited.
