Henry 450 Bushmaster Single Shot Rifle
Time stands still for nobody, including Henry Repeating Arms. We’ve built our name and reputation on America’s favorite line of lever actions, and that’s what most of the firearms world thinks of when our name comes up. But we’ve felt for quite a while now, that there’s more we could be doing in the long gun market, and as you may have noticed with the introduction of the Long Ranger model for dedicated lever action hunters, we’re doing it!
The centerfire single-shot rifle has an extensive history among hunters looking for a dependable and accurate game-getter, without having to spend more than necessary for good quality and basic function, and for 2017 we’re introducing our brand new line of break-action one-shooters to carry on that history.
Available with matte finish on steel frames and a highly polished finish on hardened brass frames, these elegantly simple rifles feature 22” round barrels, fully adjustable folding leaf rear sight and brass bead front sights we use on the lever actions, a drilled and tapped provision for optional scope use, walnut front and rear furniture, a curved pistol grip wrist and solid rubber recoil pad on the steel versions, a straight English wrist and brass buttplate on the brass rifles, and a non-ejecting case extractor. Covering everything from coyotes to moose, in steel the calibers include .223, 243, .308, .357 Mag, .44 Mag, .30-30 and .45-70; and in brass .44 Mag, .357 Mag and .45-70.
These new rifles use a familiar locking lever on top of the frame, behind the external hammer spur, to break the barrel open. We’ve added our own touch here though- the lever can be pivoted either left or right from its center position to unlock, which works well for both lefties and righties. The action has no external manual safety; it uses a rebounding hammer that can’t touch the firing pin unless the trigger’s deliberately pulled, and an interlock system that doesn’t allow the barrel to open if the hammer’s cocked, or the barrel to close if the hammer’s cocked while it’s open. Quick to load or unload, safe to carry, and simple to operate.
These single-shot rifles are aimed at the challenge of hunting with only one round on board, and hunters who prefer the uncomplicated durability of the design. Make no mistake though- while some might consider a single-shot an entry-level proposition, we build these to the same high standards as all of our fine centerfire rifles, and not to be a budget model in any sense of the word.

Daiwa Procyon MQ LT 2500D Spinning Reel
The Procyon MQ LT features a one-piece monocoque Zaion V body that allows less body and frame flex providing better support on the gears and bearings and allows increased torque and power while providing longer life to the gears. Anglers will find that the one-piece monocoque Zaion V body of the Procyon MQ LT is incredibly lightweight when they pick it up and put it on their favorite rod.
The Procyon MQ LT features an Air Drive Rotor engineered to be very rigid, especially at high drag pressures with little flex. The Procyon MQ LT also has generous cut-outs in its engineering design, which reduces the weight of the Air Drive Rotor. The lighter the rotor, the less inertia it takes to spin around the reel. This makes it much easier to crank the handle. The new reels also showcase a tubular air bail that reduces weight and offers more rigidity than standard wire, so you get less flex and bending or breaking. The tubular air bail is also manufactured with thicker material that feels good on the fingers when flipping the bail by hand.
Another element of the series is DIGIGEAR® technology, digitally for considerably better gear meshing increase smoothness and gear wear.
Anglers will also find Daiwa’s distinctive Advanced Tournament Drag (ATD™) a benefit for setting the hook and fighting fish. When you set the hook, the reel instantly adds drag resistance, and then as the fish starts pulling drag, the ATD drag curve automatically returns to your prescribed setting.
The Procyon MQ LT family features Long Cast ABS spool as well. The design of the spool’s lip allows the line to exit the reel at a much tighter cone-shaped angle, meeting the guide train with less resistance and force, alleviating wind knots and allowing for longer casts.
